Late Shri Y. S. Bhargava, the founder of
CYPER, was born on May 5, 1931. The fire of nationalism was
kindled in him when he was 15 as he witnessed a wonton act
of colonial high handedness. The fire was to blaze within
him right through his life. In college, being from the premier
first batch of B. Pharm. from the prestigious BITS Pilani,
he found pharmacy fascinating, got interested to server his
country for a cause.

In October 1965, during his long innings
in India, he drew up great plans for the future. he focused
on establishing centers of research work when men are engaged
in compelling nature of yield her secrets, to the ruthless
search of an investigating chemist. His plan found many supporters
but no financiers. However, he was determined to being "A
small wheel, no matter how small, rather than be a cog in a big wheel."
and there CYPER is born.
In 1967 he set up CYPER PHARMA, which came to be popularly
known as CYPER. He gave the company all his patent and proprietary
formulas for several drugs and medicines, without
charging any royalty. In 1967, CYPER was registered as a proprietorship
firm. The search for suitable premises ended at J-38, Kirti
Nagar. New Delhi -110015 (the present Regd. Office) where
a small area with a few rooms were taken on lease for a big
purpose and a cause." CYPER was officially launched in 1967
when the first products were ready for the market. The pharmaceuticals
market wrote : "The birth of CYPER which was launched by Shri.
Y.S. Bhargava will be a red letter day in the annals of Delhi Pharma
Industries."
Being ahead of its times the company brought the new technologies
and machineries.
Its Antibiotic product range was accepted widely in the market.
By then, it had the support diversification and expansion to
bigger areas in Delhi. Shri Gaurav Bhargav, the founder's son,
returned with a strong asset of education in pharmacy and joined
CYPER as the production manager in charge of formulations
in 1991. In 1997 enhanced the manufacturing capacity and procedures
were diversified into capsules, dry syrups and tablets. This
heralded the manufacture of various drug ranges like Antibiotics,
Anti-Allergics, Anti-TBs, Anti-Inflammatory, etc.
The whole of CYPER was plunged into gloom on December 2,2000
when Shri Y. S. Bhargava passed away. The Pharmaceuticals
Journal mourned t death of a "True Nationalist, entrepreneur
and great soul..." The best homage we can pay to him to contribute
our best in the cause of self-reliance and the prosperity
of our country in our fields endeavor.
The reigns of CYPER was taken over by the dynamic and enthusiastic, Shri Gaurav Bhargava, the founder's son who set up his systems on a fillip to take CYPER to pinnacles of the Pharma Industry.
In 2005 the company expanded its manufacturing capacity with a new Plant in the Excise Free / Tax Free zone at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh.
